Roberto Piolanti, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Piolanti has held various senior management positions in operations and general management. Prior to joining Xirgo Technologies, Mr. Piolanti served as Vice President of Operations at CalAmp Corporation. Mr. Piolanti implemented a variable cost manufacturing model by developing a strong off-shore supply chain and a flexible logistics network. Simultaneously, he reduced product costs, reduced inventory, and decreased time to market.

Prior to CalAmp, Mr. Piolanti spent eight years with Magnetek, Inc where he held the position of Director of Operations before being appointed as General Manager of the North American Power Electronics Operations. In this position he not only was responsible for the day-to-day activities, but also for the development and implementation of the business growth and strategies worldwide for the Power Electronic division.

Mr. Piolanti received his undergraduate and graduate degree in Electrical Engineer from the University of Pisa, (Pisa, Italy) with a minor in Biomedical Engineering. He worked for the University in 1994-1996 as a researcher.  His results were published in the Langmuir of the American Chemical Society.
